Section 5307 & 5339 Program of Projects

Notice is hereby given that the City of Evansville will submit a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Operating, Capital and Planning Assistance Grant application for the Metropolitan Evansville Transit System (METS). The purpose of this notice is to afford all interested persons the opportunity to comment on the proposed projects. Written comments may be forwarded to Jennifer Scott, Transportation Planner, Evansville MPO, Room 316 - Civic Center Complex, 1 NW MLK Jr. Blvd., Evansville, IN 47708 or email. Comments will be accepted through April 17, 2025. Any person who desires a public hearing be held must submit a written request for such by Friday, April 17, 2025. If a public hearing is requested on or before April 17, 2025 a public hearing notice will be published in this newspaper. A copy of the Program of Projects is available for public inspection on the MPO website at Here.

2026-2030 TIP Comment Period

The MPO will accept public comments on the 2026-2030 TIP documentation from March 17, 2025 through April 16, 2025. Please contact the MPO for questions, comments or additional information.

Draft 2026-2030 TIP

The Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) announces a 30-day review and comment period from March 17, 2025 through April 16, 2025 for the 2026-2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and corresponding draft Conformity Documentation.

Regional Transportation Guide

The Evansville-Henderson Regional Transportation Guide was developed by the Evansville MPO and the Regional Transit Advisory Committee as a resource for residents throughout the Evansville region, including Vanderburgh, Henderson, Warrick, Gibson, and Posey counties.

In the fall of 2022, non-profit organization Missing Pieces CDC began operating Epworth Express to provide an option for people to travel between downtown Evansville and medical facilities along Epworth Road, with multiple stops in between. Details about the route and stops are included in the brochure.

The Title VI/LEP Plan includes detailed information on your rights under Title VI and contact information to send complaints directly to FHWA or FTA.
