CY 2024 Call for Projects

The Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization (EMPO) will begin accepting applications for federal funding in July 2024 for Indiana LPAs. Funds awarded will cover construction only and will be programmed for EMPO FY 2031 and beyond. Project applications are due July 26, 2024 .

Any project, regardless of anticipated FHWA funding source, is eligible for submission. Projects eligible for Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) funds, Transportation Alternative funds, Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds, Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funds, Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) funds, and Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient, and Cost-saving Transportation Program (PROTECT) funds are eligible for consideration during this call.

Eligible applicants include local jurisdictions in the Evansville Urbanized Area in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties in Indiana. Certain federal requirements must be satisfied in order for a project to be eligible for funding. Questions regarding these requirements may be directed to the EMPO.

Required with the application is a Letter of Financial Commitment. Sample wording for this letter is included in the Reference Guide.
